I have read today on a mailing list a very interesting thread. It seems like there is a project Xen hosting that has the goal to provide cheap, reliable, and community managed Xen hosting. It really seems like a nice project especially because some communities stared using it ( http://www.chris-lamb.co.uk/2007/10/03/yet-another-community-xen-server ) but personally I still prefer good old BSD jails.
In my opinion Xen is a relatively young platform, it isn’t tested enough by a lot o people comparing to the jails that over the years have proven their advantages.Anyway I hope one day this will become a reliable solution because it could be the beginning of something…
Three hours ago WordPress 2.2.3 was released, the perfect chance to test a new plugin I’ve just installed. Instant Upgrade is a the plaugin I use for upgrading WordPress from now on. Is no secret that upgrades are annoying, you must download the new version, unpack it, delete the old files, copy in the new files, run an upgrading routine.

After a short vacation ( about 12 days ) I’ve got back to work ( my work
). I have stared on building my personal homepage where, so far there is not much to find except some things about me , some links and some scripts that I use every day in order to make my work easier.

Yesterday was a sad day, I’ve finished watching all five seasons of Justice League ( my favorite cartons
) , so I’ve asked some friends to recommend me something else to watch because my life without movies and serials would be to boring . Some of them recommended me Lost , Prison break , Rome , 24 but I have already seen those. Finally my friend Radu gave me the solution that is going to keep me busy for a very , very long time. He recommended me a website where you could see lots of series on line , yes heard ( seen ) it right a lot of series online .

WordPress is a very powerful and customizable software, but it doesn’t have all the features I need. But fortunately there are people all around the world that build plugins for WordPress. Plugins are nice and easy to add but the most annoying part is to download them by ftp or sftp ( in my case ) on my server , unpack them and activate them. I don’t really like this part but yesterday when I was browsing for plugins on the internet I found a really nice one : PlugInstaller

Well now … I have just finished my first WordPress upgrade. I have just followd the instructions from http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress and everything worked like a charm without any complications. If you’re curious about the bugs closed in 2.2.2 check this out, but I bet that 95 % of the readers won’t be courious
